Huge congratulations to Welsh umpire Alison Davies, who has been appointed by the International Netball Federation (INF) to Umpire at the upcoming Netball World Youth Cup 2017. The Youth Cup will be held in Gaborone, Botswana on the 8th to 17th July this year.
P.E. Teacher Alison Davies of Fforestfach says she feels “honoured to be appointed for this prestigious event”, and is “over the moon.”
Alison will join seven other Umpires from across the world on the International Talent Identified Umpire (ITID) list. Alison continues to focus on her ultimate goal – to earn her International Umpire Award. There are only 36 in the world and Alison hopes to become one of them. The Netball World Youth Cup will contribute towards her wealth of experience.
Alison had a busy summer in 2016 whilst umpiring at two international events. The first tournament was the World University Netball Championships 2016 in Miami, Florida. The second event was at the exciting Celtic Clash between the Scottish Thistles and Northern Ireland, held in Edinburgh last August.
Welsh Netball look forward to watching Alison thrive, and will continue to support her during her development.
