Welsh Netball’s Easter #NetsPlay camps have been getting underway across Wales with dozens of young people getting active and involved with the sport of netball this school holiday.
On Tuesday 27 March the first camp took place at Canolfan Brailsford, Bangor and it was followed by one at Talybont Sports Park, Cardiff on Tuesday 3 April.
All of this year’s camps have a Commonwealth Games theme as the Wales squad prepares to take on some of the world’s best at the Commonwealth Games out in Australia.
Lisa Power, from Bridgend Netball Club, took charge of the recent #NetsPlay session in Cardiff. She was full of praise for the girls in attendance and for the opportunity that #NetsPlay provide.
She said: “It has been enjoyed by girls of all ages here today. It’s fabulous for girls starting out because it’s such fun!”
“We’ve been doing lots of activities, starting with shooting games, killer, truck and trailer and lots of attack and defensive work.”
Laura Rees, Netball Development Officer for the Central South region, who organised the Cardiff #NetsPlay session said: “Our young netballers had a fantastic day at #NetsPlay today. It’s great to see so many young people getting involved in physical activity this Easter – as well as learning new skills and making friends!”
We look forward to welcoming some more keen young netballers to the session taking place at UWTSD, Carmarthen on Wednesday 4 April.
