Recently the UK Government have published UK-wide Concussion Guidelines for Grassroots Sport to help players, coaches, parents, schools, National Governing Bodies, and sports administrators to identify, manage, and prevent the issue.
The guidelines were developed by a panel of neurology and sports medicine experts, both academics and clinicians from the UK and further afield. They set out easy-to-follow steps, to help raise awareness, prevent, and treat suspected concussion incidents and are designed on the basis that medical professionals are less likely to always be present in a community setting.
🚨 If in doubt, sit them out 🚨 is the key message.
This guidance applies to all our grassroots netball community, whether you play in a club, school, or social setting, and can be found here under the ’Grassroots Guidance’ button: https://walesnetball.com/concussion-policies/
If you’re playing netball in a performance setting – Regional Academies, National Academies, Welsh Feathers Senior team or in a Netball Super League environment, then please refer to our separate Performance Concussion Policy.
