Nia Jones reaches milestone 50th Cap against Australia

1 match after her teammate notched up her 50th cap, co-captain Nia Jones celebrates her 50th cap in a high intensity match against Australia.

Nia made her debut for Wales Netball back in 2013, against Scotland and she has firmly become a fan favourite. Her dogged determination and flare is what sets her apart on court, but her personality is the reason why she is liked by many.

The 22nd Commonwealth Games marks Nia’s 3rd appearance at the games and she has grown in strength after every one. For her 50th game, Nia certainly had a battle against the Australian wing attacks (Liz Watson and Kiera Austin), but within the first 5 minutes, the co-captain made her mark against the world number one team.

Throughout the match, Nia held her own and pressured the opposition into making mistakes. She continually helped in attack and fed her teammates with precision.

Congratulations Nia! We’ve loved watching you play in all 50 matches, and can’t wait to watch 50 more!
