U21 World Youth Cup Qualifier Long Squad

We are delighted to announce the selection of 24 athletes who will make up our Wales U21 Long Squad that will start training in June 2024 as they prepare for the upcoming U21 World Youth Cup Qualifier (WYCQ) competition, which will take place in Cardiff between 24th-29th September 2024. The WYCQ long squad is listed below:

The long squad features the brightest prospects from our National Academy Programme, each of whom will be working hard to impress the Head Coach and selectors ahead of the final selection in August, where the squad will be cut to 12 athletes and three reserves. The U21 WYCQ squad will be led by Head Coach Sarah Lewis, supported by Assistant Coaches Jen Barrett and Jo Ricketts, with Team Manager Nicola James and Physiotherapist Ffion Hopkins. The Wales U21 WYCQ Squad will take on the following teams in Cardiff in September, as they aim to qualify for the World Youth Cup, which will be held in Gibraltar in 2025:

  • Isle of Man
  • Northern Ireland
  • Scotland
  • UAE
