Inter County Championship 2023

Wales Netball hosted the first National Competition of 2022 / 2023 season!

The Inter County Championship which was held in Bangor, hosted 37 teams across 5 categories in a exciting 2-day competition weekend!

We were privileged to see so many athletes competing in such a exceptional championship, and it was great to see an abundance of parents and spectators there to support too. We are proud to have hosted such a prestigious tournament which demonstrated some amazing netball, shown by hard working athletes from all over Wales.

Congratulations to all teams that were involved in creating an exceptional championship, and a further congratulations to the winners, runners up and players of the tournaments from each category!

The final tournament positions are as follows:

U14

U14 A Winners: South East

U14 A Runners Up: Cardiff and Vale

Player of the tournament: North West – L. Williams

U14 B Winners: North East

U14 B Runners Up: Cardiff and Vale

Player of the tournament: North East – N. Spender

U16

U16 A Winners: Glamorgan Valleys

U16 A Runners Up: Cardiff and Vale

Player of the tournament: North East – R. Ellis

U16 B Winner: North East

U16 B Runner Up: Glamorgan Valleys

Player of the tournament: Glamorgan Valleys – E. Baynham

U18

U18 A Winners: North East

U18 A Runners Up: West Wales

Player of the tournament: Afan Nedd Tawe – G. Lillicrap

U18 B Winner: North East

U18 B Runners Up: West Wales

Player of the tournament: West Wales – H. Davies & I. Wall

We would like to say a huge thank you to all the team managers and coaches of each county for their dedication. A special thank you goes out to all the incredible volunteers (Gwenno Pritchard, Cara Roberts, Sian Roberts, and Hannah Nicholls) and talented umpires from across Wales. We wouldn’t be able to hold such an incredible event without you.
