HOLD THE DATE: Welsh Feathers to face Tonga in Commonwealth Games send-off

The Welsh Feathers will face Tonga in Cardiff on Sunday 19 July, giving supporters one final chance to see the team in action on home soil before they head to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. The ticketed international friendly will take place at House of Sport, Cardiff, with the match starting at 1pm.

The fixture will be an important part of the Welsh Feathers’ final preparations for Glasgow, as Wales’ senior squad take on Tonga in front of a home crowd. It will also be a chance for the netball community in Wales to come together, get behind the team and help send the squad off in style.

Full details on tickets, the match-day experience and the confirmed squad list will be shared shortly. For now, supporters are encouraged to hold the date, get ready to show their support, and keep an eye out for further updates.

Emily Handyside, Head Coach, Welsh Feathers, said:  “This is going to be a really special occasion and a fantastic way to round off our preparations before Glasgow. Facing a side like Tonga at home, in front of our own supporters, is exactly the kind of test we want going into a Commonwealth Games. We’d love to see House of Sport packed out so the squad can feel that home support and carry those great vibes with them to the Games. Come along, get behind the team and help us send them off in style.”

Bethan Dyke. captain, Welsh Feathers, said  “Playing at home in front of our Welsh fans is always something we look forward to, and to do it right before the Commonwealth Games makes it even more special. The support of our fans means everything to us, so we’d love for as many people as possible to come down and support the squad. It’s a brilliant chance to see top international netball right here in Wales, so we hope to see you there.”

Fans are encouraged to hold the date for Sunday 19 July and watch out for further announcements on tickets and the full match-day experience in the coming weeks.
