Welsh Netball is ecstatic to share the news that the Welsh international side will finally be back in action this August, after 18 months away from international competition due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
From Friday 20 until Sunday 22 August, Wales will be up in Glasgow’s Emirates Arena, taking on our Celtic cousins, Scotland and Northern Ireland in a series of friendly international training matches. This will be the first time we have faced any of the other Home Nations since 2019 and will be the springboard to a big year for Wales, with the 2022 Commonwealth Games on the horizon.
Looking ahead to the return of international netball, Wales head coach Sara Hale said: “It is really pleasing to have friendly competition in the calendar against both Scotland and Northern Ireland. It will not only be a welcome return to international netball, but also an exciting opportunity for us to expose players and assess where we are as a group, ahead of what is a crucial year for us.”
We will release more information about these upcoming games as soon as we have it available. You can see the newly selected Wales long squad here.
