Introducing the Wales Netball CPD Pathway

Wales Netball have been working hard behind the scenes to bring you even more ways to learn and grow your skills! Whether you’re a coach helping your team shine, an umpire making sure the game’s fair, or a volunteer who loves netball and wants to get involved, we have something for everyone with our new ‘Continued Professional Development’ Pathway (see image below).

We have new learning opportunities which are designed to complement and enhance our core qualification courses in coaching and officiating (e.g. Level 1 Coaching, C Award Umpire etc.), and give optionality to the learner. All qualified umpires and coaches with the requisite qualification will be able to make use of these development opportunities to boost their skills and get better at what they do. Whilst some of these are still under development, we have our Game Management Webinar up and running with dates available to book on to now! This webinar is designed to help you make more confident calls as an Umpire, looking at understanding the 2024 rules of Contact and Game Management, and application of the Game Management steps at League level across Wales.

As well as those designed to complement our core qualification courses, two CPD courses have been developed which can be undertaken by anyone wanting to get involved. Our Walking Netball Activator Course is perfect for anyone who wants to host Walking Netball sessions at their club, school, or even in your local community. It’s a fantastic way to bring the fun of netball to even more people, by getting people active and enjoying netball at a pace that suits them. Whilst our Physical Literacy in Netball – A Participant Centred Approach Workshop, is perfect for coaches, team managers, umpires and players (within both our participation and performance pathways), to learn about how to develop competent, confident and healthy movers.

Here’s what our Workforce Officer, Sue Williams, has to say about the Pathway:

“We’re so excited to be launching our new & improved CPD pathway – with options for everyone! We’ve listened to our netball community and developed learning to suit a range of needs and formats. With even more to come! We can’t wait for you to get stuck in”

All Workshops and Webinars will be able to book via Sport80. To keep up to date with what’s on, please go to our Upcoming Courses page and make sure you are following our social media channels where we will be sharing all the latest news and deep dives into these new offerings!

We’re so excited to bring you these new ways to learn and grow with Wales Netball!
