Jenny Berry Joins Wales U21 As Assistant Coach

Welsh Netball is pleased to announce that it has appointed Jenny Berry as new assistant coach for the Wales Under 21 squad.

Berry, who will be working alongside head coach Nikki Lloyd and team manager Louvain Lake, has a wealth of experience from over the border in England, having coached for the last ten years at a range of levels. Most recently she was involved with Team Bath as the franchise’s Under 21’s assistant coach at their Bristol Hub. She has also coached at Loughborough University for their regional side and BUCS programme whilst she studied for a degree in Sports Science with Management. This is in addition to coaching a team at Crossbow Netball Club in Bristol.

Since August 2019 Berry has been involved in the England Netball Performance Pathway Coach Development Programme. Furthermore, she has just been accepted onto a UKCC Level 3 course, starting in the near future.

As well as her undergraduate degree in Sports Science with Management she also holds a Masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology.

When not coaching, Berry, who hails from Bristol, works as a primary school teacher in Portishead where she has worked for the last two years.

Reacting to her appointment, Berry said: “I feel very privileged to have been given the opportunity to become a part of the Wales U21 coaching team.

“I am very excited to continue to collaborate with the head coach Nikki Lloyd in a new setting having work together at Team Bath, and to work with a fantastic group of athletes.

“I am thrilled to be a member of the coaching team working with this group at such an exciting and crucial time, and I look forward to all of the opportunities and challenges that present themselves along the way.”

Welsh Netball would like to wish Jen all the best for her new role with Wales U21 and we look forward to seeing how she and the rest of the management team and athletes get on in the coming season.
