Llantrisant Netball Club Host a 13-Hour Netball Marathon

To celebrate their 40th anniversary Llantrisant Netball Club are holding a series of events to mark this huge milestone in their club’s history.

One of these events was held on April 3rd, Llantrisant Netball Club hosted a 13-hour marathon day of netball involving all of the Llantrisant netball family, players, coaches, umpires, parents, husbands & boyfriends at the same time as having fun they were raising funds for the club.

The day involved 275 junior female players and 94 adults, participating in a junior age grade tournament and an adult mixed tournament respectively. Additionally, masterclasses were run by the Welsh Feather legend – Billy Bowers and current Welsh Feather Bethan Dyke – to help girls with their defensive and attacking skills. A ‘back to netball’ session was hosted for parents who wanted to try their hand at the sport!

The celebration was truly a full-circle moment with Llanhari school donating the use of their sports-hall free of charge, which Llantrisant Netball Club had previously helped to secure a grant from Sport Wales Capital Funding scheme for – which had enabled refurbishment of the sports hall floor during the pandemic.

A great day was had by all who were participating, volunteering & spectating. The money raised will be reinvested in Llantrisant Netball Club, helping it to continue its great work enriching it’s community through netball opportunities – hopefully for another 40 years at least!
