More Clubs than Ever Before have been Awarded Grants Through The Be Active Wales Fund

What is it?

The Be Active Wales Fund is a fantastic grant opportunity that is funded by the National Lottery. It is designed to support sports clubs and community organisations across Wales. This funding scheme offers grants ranging from £300 to £50,000, for projects that promote equality, sustainability, and innovation in Sport. Whether it’s projects related to sporting events in Wales or other initiatives, this fund aims to help develop and strengthen sports in Wales.

By July 2023, the Be Active Wales Fund had already awarded £79,124 to 57 different netball projects, helping them to expand their clubs, train more coaches, and include Welsh Language in their training sessions. Since then, another 27 Netball Clubs across Wales have applied for the fund! If you’re looking for funding for your project, the Be Active Wales Fund could be your solution! Don’t miss this opportunity to take your club or organisation to the next level and contribute to the development of netball in Wales.

Who Can Apply?

All not-for-profit clubs or organizations in Wales are eligible to apply for funding, regardless of their size or location. However, your club must meet all the required funding conditions and requirements.

To apply, you must be a not-for-profit sports club or community organization that primarily serves Welsh residents. Your project or activities must not have started yet, and the funds must be used for the benefit of the community as a whole, rather than just a specific school. You must also meet all the requirements listed in the expression of interest form and promote equality, sustainability, and innovation in sports projects. Additionally, you need to demonstrate how the project will increase access to physical activity.

Please note that due to the high volume of applications that have been submitted ahead of the end of the financial year, your application will not be processed until April and it will be considered in the 2024/25 round of funding.

How To Apply

To apply for the Be Active Wales Fund, please fill out the Expression of Interest form.

Within two working days of submitting the form, Sport Wales will respond with more information on how to proceed with your application. Before applying, Sport Wales recommends that you carefully review the terms and conditions for grants here.

If you have a fantastic project idea and require funding to bring it to life, we encourage you to apply for the Be Active Wales Fund. We want to support your initiative and helping you achieve your objectives in the best way we can.

If you apply and succeed, we would be delighted to hear from you! You can tag us on social media @walesnetball_ or send us an email emma.norman@walesnetball.com.
