Netball Europe Announces 2019 Management Board

Following this weekend’s meeting of the Netball Europe Council, the Management Board of netball’s European federation has been announced.

There will be strong representation from Welsh Netball on 2019’s Management Board as Catherine Lewis, Welsh Netball Chair and formerly Netball Europe Director without Portfolio, becomes Chair. Meanwhile, Jean Foster, whose term as an Elected Director on the Welsh Netball Board ended this month, becomes Netball Europe’s Secretary. Both Catherine and Jean are highly experienced members of Welsh Netball’s Board with deep community links to netball in the South East and Central South regions respectively.

Reacting to the appointments of Catherine and Jean, Welsh Netball CEO Sarah Jones said: “I am very pleased that Catherine and Jean have been appointed to the Netball Europe Management Board in such prominent positions – congratulations to them both.

“Both Catherine and Jean have vast experience of governance and have helped oversee a radical evolution in how the Welsh Netball Board operates. Their expertise will be instrumental as Netball Europe seeks to capitalise on the growth of the game across the region.

“Their appointments are also hugely beneficial  for Wales and ensures that our nation remains prominent at European level.”
