Local Authority Hub Tournament 2016 Results

Organised by one of Welsh Netball’s Development Officers, Sarah
Goulden, Cardiff hosted an exciting, competitive Local Authority Hub Tournament
last weekend.

The Local Authority (LA) Hub Tournament ran throughout the
day on Saturday 18 June.  Fifteen teams
took part in the Under 11 competition, whilst twenty teams competed in the
Under 13 category.

Congratulations to Caerphilly A team who won the Under 11
competition. Bridgend A came 2nd, and the Vale team came in at 3rd
position.

Congratulations to Cardiff A team who came in 1st
position in the U13 competition.  Vale A
team came 2nd.  In 3rd
place were Swansea, and Neath Port Talbot were 4th.

Former International player Jan Allen was also present at
the Tournament.  Jan was invited to talent
spot twenty players who proved to be outstanding on the court.  Welsh Netball were very pleased and excited
that Jan was so spoilt for choice, that she decided to break the rules and chose
twenty-seven stand-out players.

Huge congratulations to Niamh Sultana, from Penarth All Stars
Club, who won the Player of the Tournament title.  Niamh showcased fantastic skill and flair on
court during the day.  One to watch!

Thank you to all who were involved in the LA Hub Tournament –
including parents, competitors, volunteers, Welsh Netball staff and Talybont
Sports Centre.  It was a successful day,
filled with enthusiasm and fun.  We can’t
wait until next year’s tournament!
