Welsh Netball Announce New Head of Performance.

Welsh Netball are pleased to announce the appointment of Rosie Pretorius as the organisation’s new Head of Performance.

Rosie brings with her extensive netball performance experience, having played elite netball in Wales herself, and holding a performance pathway coach position with England netball. Rosie believes her passion and skillset will aid her in her new role as Head of Performance.

“I’m extremely excited about starting my new role,” says 30-year-old Rosie of Talbot Green, Rhondda Cynon Taf.  “My main focus will be to ensure a robust and world class competition and performance pathway structure.

“It is imperative that we provide our coaches and players across the country with high quality resources and support.

“We must set high standards to compete with the top countries in the world and achieve our goal of consistent international success.”

Rosie has been sharing her passion and knowledge for netball with the local community for several years. Rosie says she’s excited to meet the Welsh Netball community.

“I’m most looking forward to getting out into the community across Wales and meeting as many of our fantastic volunteers and players as possible,” says Rosie, who studied Sports Business Management at Hartpury College, UWE.

“I want to find out how we can support our coaches and officials to ensure we are providing the best training and playing opportunities for our young players.”

Welsh Netball CEO Sarah Jones says:

“We are looking forward to Rosie joining the team. Rosie has a wealth of knowledge and experience that will benefit the sport greatly.

“Rosie will be a great addition to the leadership team and will be critical in working with our members to ensure sustainable and successful performance pathways are developed.

“Rosie will commence her role in January 2016 and will immediately lead and manage a full competition and pathway review, to ensure the future is built on solid foundations. Exciting times are ahead for our sport.
