Player Bio

Nichola Cooke (nee James) is Welsh Feather #185 and earned her first cap playing in the 2009 Netball Europe Open Championships against Scotland on 24/04/2009 and England the day after, her next games were in the 2010 Netball Europe Open Championships facing the same opponents as well as Northern Ireland. After this came 2 games in the World Cup Qualifer against Scotland and Northern Ireland, before playing in the Nations Cup against Namibia, India, Singapore, Tanzania and Scotland. 2011 started with the 13th World Cup hosted by Singapore where Nichola was able to play Trinidad & Tobago, Fiji, New Zealand, Botswana and Samoa; after this was the 2011 Wales Open with 2 games played against Scotland. 2012 started with a Netball Europe Open Championships and then the Tri-Series where she as able to play Cook Islands twice. For 2013 Nichola played another Netball Europe Open Championships and then in 2014 played in the Northern Cup against Singapore once and Scotland twice, after this was a World Cup Qualifier against Republic of Ireland and Scotland, after which Nichola was selected to represent Wales in the 20th Commonwealth Games hosted by Scotland where she played Australia, England, Trinidad & Tobago, South Africa and Northern Ireland. 2015 began with another Netball Europe Open Championship against Trinidad & Tobago, England and South Africa before Nichola was selected to play in the 14th World Cup hosted by Australia in 2015 where she played against Zambia, Uganda, South Africa, England and her final game against Australia on 14/08/2015.

Nichola Cooke played Wing Defence, Centre and Wing Attack and was from Afan Nedd Tawe.
