Welsh Feather #34, Sylvia Strong, was a stalwart defender for Wales, representing her country in eight matches. Her debut came on 13 April 1957 in the UKT competition, facing England and Scotland. She competed in three more matches during the UKT tournament on 3 May 1958, playing against England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Sylvia’s final three games occurred in another UKT competition on 9 May 1959.
Hailing from Cardiff, Sylvia played as a Defence and Defending Centre, bringing resilience and determination to her team’s defensive line. Her contributions remain an integral part of Wales Netball’s early history.
