Welsh Feather #48, Roberta Piercey (née Hughes), had an impressive netball career, representing Wales in 22 games over three years. While much of her playing history was in UKT competitions against England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, Roberta also had the honour of being part of the Welsh team at the first-ever Netball World Cup, held in England in 1963. This historic tournament allowed her to compete against international teams, including Trinidad, Australia, Sri Lanka, the West Indies, South Africa, Jamaica, and New Zealand.
Hailing from Flintshire, Roberta played as Wing Attack, bringing agility and precision to her team’s offensive strategies. Out of 22 games Roberta won 5 (all against Northern Ireland) and lost 17 which is a win rate of 22.73%
