Player Bio

Welsh Feather #55, Wendy White, earned all seven of her international caps at the inaugural Netball World Cup, hosted in England in 1963. This tournament gave her the opportunity to compete against Scotland, Australia, the West Indies, South Africa, Jamaica, New Zealand, and Northern Ireland. From Barry, Glamorgan, South Wales, Wendy played as Wing Defence, bringing commitment and skill to the court. However, her contributions to netball in Wales extended far beyond her time as a player. Wendy dedicated her life to the sport, serving as a player, team manager, coach, and a key member of the National Governing Body. She was also a long-serving board member and President, leaving an indelible mark on Wales Netball.

Wendy’s efforts to preserve the history of Welsh Feathers were extraordinary. She meticulously maintained the index cards of the majority of players, ensuring their legacy would not be forgotten. Without Wendy’s dedication and passion, the database of players we celebrate today would not exist.

Wendy White passed away on 15 August 2016, but her contributions to Wales Netball and the Welsh Feathers’ legacy continue to inspire.
