Lesley Owen is Welsh Feather #73 and achieved a really impressive 73 caps over 15 years! Lesley began by playing against the Home Nations (England, Scotland, Northern Ireland) in various competitions before travelling to Jamaica in 1971 for the 3rd Netball World Cup. This allowed Lesley to play against teams like Trinidad, Bahamas, New Zealand, Jamaica and Australia! Lesley was also part of the squad that travelled to New Zealand in 1975 for the 4th Netball World Cup, allowing her to play against new competitors such as Fiji and Papua New Guinea. Lesley didn’t stop there, she even played in the 5th Netball World Cup hosted by Trinidad & Tobago in 1979, this meant she was able to compete against Jamaica, Trinidad, Australia, Barbados and the Republic of Ireland. But still still wasn’t enough for Lesley! She was apart of the 6th Netball World Cup hosted by Singapore in 1983, this allowed her to play against Malaysia for the first time.
More notable games for Lesley include a British Isles Tournament where she played against the Republic of Ireland 06/03/1977, an International against Canada 19/04/1976 and an international against Sri Lanka 25/04/1978.
