Welsh Feather #8, Yvonne Hughes, made her international debut on 5 May 1951 in a match against England. She later competed in two additional games during the Festival of Britain—also known as the International and Commonwealth Festival—held in Birmingham on 2 June 1951, facing both England and Scotland.
As an Attacking Centre, Yvonne brought energy and precision to the court, proudly representing her roots in Flintshire during these memorable events in Welsh netball history.
