Welsh Feather #97, Pamela Walker, had a remarkable netball career, earning 76 caps for Wales. She received her first cap in an international match against Northern Ireland on 27 March 1982 and went on to represent Wales in three Netball World Cups.
Her first World Cup was the 6th, hosted by Singapore in 1983, where she competed against teams such as Australia, Antigua, Singapore, and Jamaica. Pamela’s second World Cup was the 8th, hosted by Australia in 1991, during which she played 10 matches against countries like Western Samoa, Fiji, Sri Lanka, the Cayman Islands, and Canada. Following this, she participated in an international match against the West Indies on 12 November 1991.
Pamela’s third World Cup was the 9th, hosted by England in 1995, where she played against Bermuda, Papua New Guinea, Malta, Malaysia, the Cayman Islands, and Hong Kong. Beyond the World Cups, she also represented Wales at the 16th Commonwealth Games in 1998, hosted by Malaysia, where she faced new opponents such as the Cook Islands and South Africa.
Pamela’s final appearances came during the FENA Open in February 1999, with her last match against England on 28 February 1999.
She played as Goal Shooter and Goal Attack, excelling in scoring positions throughout her career. Hailing from West Glamorgan, Pamela achieved an impressive 47 wins, 1 draw, and 28 losses in her 76 matches, resulting in a win rate of 61.84%.
