Sandra Connolly (nee Oakley) is Welsh Feather #99 and received her first cap playing in an International against New Zealand on 22/11/1982. Sandra is also one of the Feathers who attended the 6th World Cup – hosted by Singapore in 1983 – and was able to play against Trinidad, Australia, Antigua, Northern Ireland and Jamaica. Sandra is also one of our Feathers who was able to go to 3 World Cups! Her second was the 7th World Cup – hosted by Scotland in 1987 – and she was able to play 9 games, some against the countries Bermuda, Barbados, Republic of Ireland, Cook Islands, Papua New Guinea and Malaysia. After the 7th World Cup Sandra competed in an International against West Indies on 01/12/1987. Sandra’s third & final World Cup was the 8th World cup – hosted by Australia in 1991 – where she was able to play 10 games against countries like Western Samoa, Fiji, Sri Lanka, Cayman Islands, Singapore and Canada. Sandra’s final match was played in the Leeks C.C. competition and was against the Republic of Ireland on 22/03/1993.

Sandra continued to serve netball in Wales by joining the Wales Netball board and becoming its HR Director in 2024.
