On Monday 19 October, First Minister Mark Drakeford announced a 17-day ‘fire-break’ nationwide lockdown for Wales. The lockdown will commence from 6pm on Friday 23 October until Monday 9 November.
As a result of this announcement, Welsh Netball can confirm that as of Friday 23 October, its ‘Return to Play’ roadmap will be paused. This means that all organised netball activity is suspended across Wales. This includes our international squads.
Individual fitness activity within household groups is the only physical activity permitted. You may leave the home for local outdoor exercise with your household group, which should start and end at your home. You should not travel for exercise. All sports and leisure facilities will be closed as part of the two-week lockdown.
We understand that this will be very disappointing news for our members and we are hopeful that this will only be a very temporary measure for the duration of the two-week lockdown. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding and please keep safe.
