Return to Play Update 11 June 2021

We are pleased to share the news that following the latest easing of Welsh Government COVID-19 restrictions, clubs/organisations can now plan outdoor tournaments, festivals or other related gatherings providing a full risk assessment has been completed.

Outdoor gatherings that will involve over 100 people need to gain approval from Welsh Netball before they can take place, at least 3 weeks in advance. Further approval may be needed for larger gatherings – see FAQs for more information.

This also means that outdoor leagues can now schedule more than one game per team per league session. For example, previously teams could only play one opposition on a league night, they can now play multiple games on a league night against multiple teams provided all equipment and hands are sanitised in between games.

Indoor restrictions have not changed. Group sizes are still not to exceed 30 and when indoor games commence on the 14th June teams can only play one other team in a 24 hour period. Welsh Government hope to make amendments to indoor group sizes in the next announcement on 25 June

Please note ALL netball is still to be played under the modified rules. You can find out more information about modified netball as well as all of our Return to Play resources here.
