It is vital that everyone playing netball in Wales plays their part in safeguarding and protecting children, young people, and adults at risk.

We appreciate that there are several bodies and organisations that deliver training across the sectors, and whilst our volunteer coaches, safeguarding officers and volunteers may have current training qualifications from the day job, we require everyone delivering netball in Wales to complete sport specific safeguarding training.

Safeguarding Officer:

It is a role requirement for all Club Safeguarding Officers in Wales to complete their sport specific training, delivered by UK Coaching

Training is vital in the CSO role to ensure you are confident and capable of handling lower to higher level concerns within the club.

There are two course requirements for our Safeguarding Officers, which must be completed in this order:

Safeguarding Officers in clubs with children (below U18):

Safeguarding & Protecting Children - UK Coaching

OR

Safeguarding Officers in clubs with adults only:

Safeguarding Adults in Physical Activity and Sport eLearning - UK Coaching

AND

All Club Safeguarding Officers:

Welfare Officer Training: Time to Listen - UK Coaching

We have created the plan below for you to find the relevant training for other roles in netball. We encourage everyone in netball to educate themselves, whether they are a Coach, volunteer, member, parent or carer, to ensure that everyone in netball is in a safe, supportive and happy environment.
