August Volunteer of the Month

This month’s Volunteer of the Month goes to someone whose community is endlessly grateful for all she does to keep their club running. This is none other than Ceri Walters, the backbone of Central Netball Club in Cardiff! Ceri dedicates all her spare time to demonstrating her passion for developing netball and ensuring participation is for all.

Ceri oversees and takes the lead in all that happens at Central Netball Club. From serving as Club Secretary, Club Super Admin and Safeguarding Officer to organising training venues, handling club finances, managing kit and coaching the D team. Going the extra mile for her club – she even creates additional events for the players’ enjoyment during Christmas and Easter!

Ceri’s personality shines through when speaking with individuals at Central Netball Club. Described as someone who is always happy, approachable and joyful, she creates a welcoming environment for netballers of all ages. Ceri is a fantastic role model for many young girls, inspiring them to play netball and always being on hand to provide positive feedback and encouragement!

As a full-time teacher and mother of two, when she’s not rushing to take her children to their own training, she finds time to play herself in Central Netball Club’s B team! Not only this, but she also volunteers to coach the Glamorgan Valleys County U16’s, is the League Secretary for Cardiff Division 1 and umpires numerous Division 1 games a week!

Ceri is undoubtedly a passionate member of the netball community, volunteering so much of her spare time to help the sport grow! Thank you, Ceri – netball in South Wales is all the better for having you in it!

Wales Netball’s Volunteer of the Month will be announced on the last day of each month, with an article going on our website and post going out across all social media channels.

The Volunteer of the Month nominations are temporarily closed due to the number of nominations we’ve already received! Keep an eye out if you have a volunteer you’d like to nominate, nominations will open again in the future.
