Sara Moore Chooses Squad for World Cup Qualifiers

Today Head Coach Sara Moore has announced her Welsh Feathers Squad that will compete in the World Cup Qualifiers in Glasgow.

The event will take place at the Emirates Arena from 12th – 16th October 2022. The Welsh Feathers will contest in a five-day, round robin tournament to secure a place at the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town. Wales will face Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man, and Gibraltar, and will aim to qualify by placing first or second in the tournament.

Sara Moore, Welsh Feathers Head Coach said “I’m really pleased with the make-up of the squad for Europe Netball. The Uganda Test Series allowed us to see some new combinations, solidify more established combinations, and also to see how our younger, and less experienced athletes stood up at international level.

It was great to have that opportunity, as it allowed us to consolidate our thoughts as a coaching team, ahead of World Cup Qualifiers, which was really useful. As the squad are in a good place, we are looking forward to the challenge of competing at Europe Netball, and taking another step forward as a team, on our journey towards World Cup.”
