Tantwrm National League Roundup

This year Wales Netball held its inaugural season of Tantrwm National League, which saw an incredible display of talent across 3 competition days, streamed to over 6000 people.

We would like to say a massive thank you to our partners: headline sponsor Tantrwm for making it possible to have all National League matches streamed! Our podcast partner, The Netball Show, for providing access to players and coaches after each round of the competitions. Finally, Valleys Volcanoes partner, Gallery Loft Conversion, for supporting the team throughout the course of the National League.

We were fortunate to secure Pamela Cookey, sports broadcaster and former England Roses captain, who provided incredible commentary throughout the tournament. Her wealth of experience on and off the court was appreciated by spectators, athletes and staff alike!

Hosting the events across 3 competition days allowed the Tantrwm National League to travel across the country – to Bangor University, Swansea LC and House of Sport, Cardiff. A huge thank you to all venues for their support.

Sunday 23rd July saw our last Tantrwm National League fixtures of the inaugural 2023 season, and what a spectacular day of netball it was. Valleys Volcanoes were crowned champions, in front of hundreds of fans at House of Sport, Cardiff.

Natalia Ehenulo, a circle defender from North West Fury, was named Player of the Tournament for her outstanding performance, determination, and perseverance throughout the whole competition.

A massive congratulations to all teams, coaches and management staff, for a great start to a fiercely competitive competition. Results and final standings can be found here https://nationalleague.walesnetball.com/results/

We now enter a review period and look to build National League to be bigger and better for 2024 and beyond!
