The Wing Attack/Centre earned her first Wales cap in 2014 against the Republic of Ireland, and now, 8 years on has notched up her 50th cap.
Despite suffering 2 ACL injuries since the last Commonwealth Games, Bethan is back competing on the international stage and is stronger than ever. Domestically, she had a great season, getting the Coaches and Players Player awards at her VNSL franchise Severn Stars. In test 1 of our recent test series against the South African Spar Proteas, Bethan had a stand out performance and was awarded Player of the Match.
In her 50th match for Wales, Bethan showed she was a force to be reckoned with. Her feeds were pin-point accurate, and she had speed to burn. She held her position against a strong Claire Maxwell (wing defence for Scotland) and managed to get the ball into our attackers which resulted in an abundance of goals.
After the match, Nia Jones (Wales co-captain) praised her team-mate “4 years ago, in our second match against Scotland (in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games) my best friend went down with a serious injury. To come out and play the way she did in her 50th cap is unbelievable!”
Congratulations Bethan, 50 caps down and more to come!
