Tŷ Newydd Primary School crowned National Primary School Champions.

Tŷ Newydd Primary School, Caerphilly, were
crowned champions of Welsh Netball’s National Primary School competition
today.   Tŷ Newydd went head-to-head against
Tywyn Primary School in a nail-biting final.
Fifteen primary schools travelled to Cardiff for the Finals in a bid to
win the trophy.  However, Tŷ Newydd came
out on top with a 10-9 victory.

“It
feels great to win and be the best primary school in the country at netball,”
said Tŷ Newydd school teacher Mr Tudge, who coaches the team.  “It’s a great experience for our school, and
we’re very proud to have won something at a national level.”

As parents and children cheered three
cheers for their Coach, Mr Tudge added, “We’re hoping to come back next year
and retain our trophy.”

The competition was organised by Welsh
Netball, and the atmosphere at the Cardiff’s House of Sport venue today was
electric, with all the children playing confidently and with excellent
skill.

In third place were Gwauncelyn Primary
School.  Parc y Tywyn Primary school came
