Umpiring Pathway Fees Review

Welsh Netball has made some changes to its pricing structure across the Umpiring Pathway. The following price changes will take effect from 1 January 2018:

Intro to Umpiring: The cost of the Intro to Umpiring course has increased from £25 to £40.

C Award: The cost of the C Award Umpiring Course will increase from £30 to £45. The learner test fee, which include the written and practical assessment, has increased from £40 to £55.

B Award: The cost of the B Award Umpiring Course will increase from £40 to £60. The written test fee will increase from £20 to £45, and the practical assessment fee will increase from £50 to £65..

A Award: The A Award’s learner test fee remains unchanged at £100. The written test fee will increase from £20 to £45.

The review of the umpiring fees structure has come as a result of increasing costs associated with the delivery and implementation of the Netball Europe Umpiring Pathway. Welsh Netball will continue to subsidise umpire testing throughout the pathway, with the 2018 price changes marking the first increase in fees for four years.

Head of Community Development, Ben Williams reaffirmed Welsh Netball’s commitment to developing excellence in the Umpiring Pathway. He said: “Welsh Netball is constantly innovating and looking to improving its umpiring pathway. In the last year, Welsh Netball has expanded its training opportunities for umpires, including a new Intro to Umpiring course and a new B Award course.”

He added: “We will continue to invest time and resources into umpiring in 2018 and we are committed to developing high quality umpires at all levels to support the umpiring pathway for netball in Wales.”
