University of South Wales/Coleg y Cymoedd Regional Academy Spotlight

The University of South Wales/Coleg y Cymoedd Regional Academy has been providing a comprehensive athlete development program for individuals interested in netball throughout the month. The University of South Wales/Coleg y Cymoedd Regional Academy, located at the University of South Wales Sport Park in Pontypridd, is dedicated to instilling positive values and character traits across the group of athletes.

Head Coach Jess Ginis spoke at length about the Regional Academy’s mission to shape both players and individuals who embody the spirit of the community. “The University of South Wales/Coleg y Cymoedd Regional Academy aims to instil values of determination, respect, and teamwork in the athletes, which are essential not only in netball but also in life.

The well-rounded training program provided by the University of South Wales/Coleg y Cymoedd  Regional Academy focuses on various aspects such as technical skill development, tactical understanding, physical conditioning, mental preparation, and team building. The athletes engage in a range of activities that help them hone their skills and become better netball players”.

The University of South Wales is a dynamic and sustainable university that aims to build better futures for its students, communities, and partners. With multiple locations across Cardiff, Pontypridd, Newport, and Treforest, USW is a vocationally focused university that collaborates with employers to provide a skilled and relevant workforce.

The University of South Wales also offers bespoke Sport Taster Sessions every Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm.
