Following Wales’ 2-nil victory in the recent Wendy White Series against Samoa on 5 & 7 December, Welsh Netball is proud and pleased to mark goal shooter Eleanor Roberts’ first senior cap. Merle Hamilton, Welsh Netball’s President presented Eleanor with a badge to mark her debut. Eleanor, 22, hails from Pontypool and has recently signed for Celtic Dragons for the 2018 Vitality Netball Superleague season.
Eleanor made her debut against Samoa on 5 December where Wales were victorious 72-46, with several goals coming from Eleanor as she took the court from the bench. Trish Wilcox, Wales’ Head Coach was full of praise for the debutante. She said: “Eleanor has been working hard on the technical and tactical aspects of her game and thoroughly deserved the opportunity to gain her first cap.”
Welsh Netball congratulates Eleanor on making her first appearance for Wales and we look forward to seeing more of her in the red dress of Wales!
