Wales Long Squad Announced Ahead of Silver Ferns Test Series.

Welsh Netball is delighted to announce the selection of Wales’ long squad of 16 players. From these 16 players, the final 12 will be named to face world number 2, New Zealand’s Silver Ferns, on February 7th and 8th.  These world class teams will meet on court at the Ice Arena Wales, as part of the much-anticipated two test match series.

The sixteen athletes are:

Sara Bell

Fern Davies

Suzy Drane

Bethan Dyke

Chloe James

Clare Jones

Kyra Jones

Nia Jones

Lateisha Kidner

Chelsea Lewis

Kelly Morgan

Cara Lea Moseley

Eleanor Roberts

Georgia Rowe

Leila Thomas

Amanda Varey

The long squad will continue with their preparations this week, until the final 12 is selected on the weekend and announced on the 6th of February.  This will be the first time for several of the team members to play against the Silver Ferns, and it will be the first time any of them will have represented their country at the 3,000 capacity Ice Arena Wales.

The test series marks twenty years since the Silver Ferns last visited Wales to play the home team.  The Ferns remain undefeated by Wales, who will be hoping to close the gap on the score when the two sides last met in the capital city in 1997.

Be part of the supporting crowd during the games – an event for the whole family.  Get your tickets via Ticketline:  http://www.ticketline.co.uk/welsh-netball#bio
