The annual Sport Caerphilly Sport Awards took place on Friday 10th November, and our Chair Catherine Lewis was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Catherine has been involved in netball for over 40 years and selflessly devotes over 20 hours a week to her various commitments in the sport. Her involvement in netball stretches from grassroots right through to national level.
At a local level, Catherine’s impact has been felt within Ystrad Netball Club. She wears multiple hats at the club being the club secretary, coach, and umpire, giving up her evenings and weekends.
As well as being our Chair here at Wales Netball, at a National Level Catherine is the Chairperson for Europe Netball and supports the growth of the game. Catherine also sits on a number of World Netball committees.
Her ability to balance coaching, umpiring, leadership, and policy involvement reflects not only her love for the sport but also her determination to make a lasting impact.
As a trailblazer and a role model, her impact is immeasurable. Without this commitment and enthusiasm, netball in the local community and nationally wouldn’t be where it is today.
Congratulations Catherine!
