Wales Netball Launches New National League

We are excited to announce the launch of our new National League. This has been created to offer the community a competitive platform for adults to play for a National League Team, coming up against other teams across the various regions in Wales.

About the National League, Vicki Sutton (Wales Netball CEO) said “National League has been a long time in the making and I am thrilled to finally see it becoming a reality. 2023 will be a great chance for us to test the format, eligibility and structure of the league with a view to making it bigger and better in 2024.”

The National League will comprise of six teams with an experienced management team leading each squad. The six teams are City Flames (Cardiff & Vale), South East Blaze (South East), Valleys Volcanoes (Glamorgan Valleys), West Wales Phoenix (West Wales), North West Fury (North West) and North East Inferno (North East). We are hopeful to expand the league to include Afan Nedd Tawe and Powys in 2024.

Each team will host their own trials and successful athletes will benefit from training sessions and competitive matches against other National League teams. All trial information can be found here

We are excited to see the first trials take place on Saturday 18th March and can’t wait to see the National League get underway in the coming months!
