Wales Netball supports hundreds of netballers from across the country in times of need

In September 2023 Wales Netball launched the ‘Cost of Living Support Fund’ to the netball community, to coincide with the start of the new season. The fund set-out to support those struggling financially due to the national cost-of-living crisis, with the aim to keep as many people playing netball as possible.

Over the course of the 23/24 season two application windows were opened, and hundreds of applications were succesfully made – with 54% of applicants being under the age of 18 and 46% being over 18. Trainers were given to a whopping 79% of applicants, club fees to 18% of applicants, sports bras to 2% of applicants and 1% received netball posts. And applicants came from all across Wales.

“Thanks to you providing my daughter with her netball trainers it has meant she can continue to play with her peers through what has been a very difficult year for her.”

“Thank you so much for my daughter’s trainers, she is absolutely made up!”

“Honestly can’t thank you and Wales Netball enough.”

Generous funding from the Welsh Government made this important inititiave possible – and we’d love to be able to continue supporting our community as we move into the 2024/2025 netball season. Please get in touch via keira.edwards@walesnetball.com if you or anyone you know would be keen to support.
