Wales Netball Workforce 2024

Over the past five weeks, we have been introducing our new ‘Continued Professional Development’ Pathway, which explores additional learning opportunities that are designed to complement and enhance our core qualification courses. If you have missed this content, make sure to check out our posts and videos via our social media platforms on our Game Management Webinar, Physical Literacy in Netball – A Participant Centred Approach Workshop and Walking Netball Activator!

Whilst we have been excitedly looking to the future by showcasing our new offerings, we’ve also taken a step back to review and reflect on our growth over the previous year in our delivery of core qualifications. Your increased demand, and our hard work behind the scenes has allowed attendees to come together across all areas of Wales to boost their skills and develop at what they do, whether this is with our umpiring or coaching qualifications or awards.

For those at the beginning of their coaching or umpiring journey, we host our introductory courses Netball Leaders and Introduction to Umpiring respectively. Both have seen a great increase in attendees over the past year, up 23% for Netball Leaders, and 32% for Introduction  to Umpiring due to three more courses hosted in 2024 compared to 2023! We have also seen signs of growth across our core qualifications, with an increase in attendees of 35% for our C Award umpiring course, and 19% for our Level 1 and Level 2 coaching courses.

It’s fantastic to see our community engaging in our professional learning opportunities, which will benefit the game in Wales immensely. All Workshops, Webinars and Courses are available to book via Sport80. To keep up to date with what’s on, please go to our Upcoming Courses page.

Don’t forget! If you have over 12 attendees looking to join an online or in-person course, we might be able to host a closed course for you, just fill in this online form to start the process.

Looking to upskill your club members but cannot fund the costs yourselves? Why not look into the Be Active Wales Fund, which can be used to cover the cost of professional learning courses that upskill volunteers!

Thank you to everyone who attended one of our courses last year, and we hope to see you on a future course soon!
