Wales U21 Squad Raring to Go World Cup Play-offs.

Wales U21 will play Barbados at 1pm [GMT] today at their 13th to 16th play-off match at the Netball World Youth Cup 2017 [NWYC2017].

The squad fought a tough battle against hosts Botswana last night in front of a deafening home crowd. Botswana started strong and won the first quarter 18-8, but Wales powered back to come out on top 10-7 in the second quarter. Botswana sealed the win with a final score of 51-39, to secure a 9th to 16th placing.

Wales will aim to give their best possible performance today for a top 13 finish.

“We are disappointed with the loss against Botswana yesterday,” said Head Coach Natalie Peperell, “ but we are looking forward to taking the positives into today’s game against Barbados.

“We need to be clinical and consistent across the full 60 minutes.

“The girls are raring to go today and are definitely up for a competitive game against a strong Caribbean team.”
