Wales U21’s Look Ahead to Netball Europe Competition

After the disappointment of the cancellation of the World Youth Cup, which was due to be held this year, it is great for the U21’s to be back in international competition.

As the first match of the Netball Europe U21 Championships gets closer, we look ahead to the competition.

The event is being held in the Isle of Man from the 12th to the 14th of November 2021. The Wales U21 squad are due to play England U21,  Northern Ireland U21 and Isle of Man U21.

Previously, the team has produced some impressive results in the competition, which they are hoping they can emulate or improve on.

The Wales U21 squad that is travelling to the Isle of Man is made up from talented athletes who have progressed through the pathway at various levels. They are:

Ellie Blackwell, Millie Carter, Alanah Heath Drury, Charlotte Jennings Evans (vice-captain), Megan Evans, Nia Evans (captain), Ellice Gallagher, Beca Hughes, Catrin Hughes, Ella Porter, Sarie Watkins, Nan Williams.

This group of athletes are determined, resilient and patient which has been displayed throughout the pandemic and the disappointment of the Netball Youth World Cup being cancelled.

The squad are full of talent and bring a range of skills and strengths to the team. We wish them the best of luck in the competition and we can’t wait to see what they can produce on the court.
