Wales Under 21 Return to Competitive Action

We are delighted to share the news that Wales Under 21 will be returning to court later this month as the team prepares for a behind-closed-doors performance competition camp from 27-30 July at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. This will provide an opportunity for Wales U21 to return to competitive action against counterparts from Scotland and England following the disappointment of the cancellation of the 2021 Netball World Youth Cup.

The squad, selected from the existing 2020/21 Wales Under 21 long squad, to travel to Sheffield is as follows:

Alanah Heath-Drury
Ceri Evans
Charlotte Jennings-Evans
Darcie Dunn
Ellice Gallagher
Ellie Blackwell
Esme Cornelius
Georgia Hellerman
Megan Evans
Nan Williams
Nia Evans
Sapphira Fisher
Carys Allen
Zoe Matthewman
Millie Carter
Macey Lane (Reserve)
Sophie Margetts (Reserve)
Martha Scott (Reserve)

Nikki Lloyd, Wales U21 head coach was excited to see her squad return to action. She said: “We all feel very privileged and lucky and are excited to be participating in this competition which provides opportunities on and off the court. It will be critical to the long term development of our Under 21 athletes and I would like to congratulate those selected.

“The selection process was highly competitive and I would like to recognise the hard work, commitment and high standards demonstrated by the whole long squad over the last 18 months during difficult circumstances.

“I look forward to working with the squad and management over the coming weeks ensuring we maximise all opportunities available to us as we look to move forward with purpose into the next four year cycle.”
