Wales Under 21s Launch Fundraising Drive for 2021 and Beyond

Wales Under 21 have launched a fundraising drive to support their squad as they approach a big prospective year of international netball. Depending on how the global battle against Coronavirus develops, 2021 will hopefully see a return of Netball Europe competition and the hosting of the 2021 Netball World Youth Cup in Fiji. Wales U21 will be hoping to take their place at these competitions, however, the financial impact that COVID-19 has had on Welsh Netball and sport more generally, means that they squad requires additional sources of funding to make that happen.

Wales U21 have shown extraordinary resilience throughout 2020 and have continued to train and connect with one another through digital means, led by head coach Nikki Lloyd. Buoyed by their excellent showing at the 2019 Netball Europe tournament, the squad is full of ambitious young athletes who are looking to make a big impact in the early part of their netball careers. There are also many talented netballers in the Wales U17 set-up and in clubs across Wales who will be hungry to earn a place in the U21 squad at the next trial and they too will be looking to add value to Wales’ elite youth team.

The first fundraising initiative from Wales U21 is a new 2021 calendar featuring the current squad. Calendars are on sale now and all proceeds will go towards supporting the squad in the coming year and beyond. Please contact Louvain Lake, Team Manager louvainnetball@gmail.com to make a purchase. Your support for the squad would be hugely appreciated.

In addition to selling calendars, the U21 squad are also excited to promote sponsorship opportunities to local businesses. The team has a range of packages available which can be tailored to the needs of any organisation. Please contact Louvain if you are interested in sponsoring the squad and aligning your brand with some of Wales’ most exciting young athletes.

Regardless of how the international programme of netball unfolds in 2021, all donations and sponsorships for the team will go towards supporting the Wales U21 set-up now and in future years. The squad is a constant conveyor-belt of talent and sponsorship means that you will be supporting the team not only at the prospective 2021 Netball World Youth Cup, but well beyond as well.

Welsh Netball will keep you up to date with all the latest developments from Wales U21 as they embark on an exciting new year and we look forward to supporting their fundraising efforts.

You can donate via Wales U21’s Go Fund Me page which you can find here. All donations are very gratefully received.
