Welsh Feathers Announce Squad for 2023-2024 Season

We are delighted to announce our Welsh Feathers Squad and Training Partners for the 2023/24 season.

The 19-athlete Welsh Feathers squad comprises a mix of new faces and experience, with 14 athletes that were part of the squad for the NWC 2023 making their return. Several athletes have progressed through the Wales Netball Performance Pathway, transitioning from National Academy to Feathers and 12 of the 19 Welsh Feathers athletes will be representing NSL Franchises in the 2024 season.

Our four Training Partners will be integral in supporting the squad this season and are committed to help themselves and the Squad develop and progress this season.

Emily Handyside, Welsh Feathers Head Coach said “I am thrilled by the squad of athletes we’ve carefully chosen. It’s a compelling mix of seasoned athletes and emerging athletes making a return, with exciting new additions. This blend not only enhances our squad’s depth and quality, but also fuels our collective ambition for an exciting and successful journey ahead.”

Sara Moore, Wales Netball Head of Performance said.

After what has been a busy few years for the Welsh Feathers Squad following the CWG 2022 and NWC 2023, we are now naturally at a time where we have reviewed our progress to date and have a clear vision for the next 4 years and beyond.

We now have a fantastic opportunity to work with a new group of athletes, and to start to learn more about each of them; whether they are current Feathers, or whether they are new to the programme. It is important that we gain insights into what each athlete adds to the environment, how they perform as individuals and as part of collective. These insights will be integral to our continued progress on the international stage, both in the short, and long term, as we build towards the Netball World Cup in Sydney 2027.”
