Welsh Netball: Here for You During COVID-19

Following the release of government advice earlier in the week, Welsh Netball has now started working remotely in order to help protect the health and well-being of its staff, members, athletes and volunteers.

Welsh Netball staff will now be working digitally across all areas of the National Governing Body. All staff are still fully contactable on their usual telephone/mobile phone numbers and e-mail addresses. You can find our contact information here. Meetings will not take place face-to-face but we will are still keen to meet our stakeholders digitally, whether that’s via WhatsApp, Facetime, Skype or Microsoft Teams.

We will continue to be engaging with our members throughout the coming weeks as we look to support you through this challenging time. You should keep an eye out on our website and social media channels for all of the latest information as well as articles, photos and video from our performance teams and the netball community. You should also monitor our dedicated COVID-19 information page which can be found here. This page will be updated with any developments relating to our areas of work.

We encourage our members to keep abreast of all of the latest COVID-19 advice from Public Health Wales and to practice social distancing. Nevertheless, it is important that you maintain your physical and mental well-being during what will be a difficult period of time.

The following external links provide some excellent advice and guidance around maintaining your physical and mental well-being:

  • Age Cymru has information about staying safe during the COVID-19 outbreak as well as on how to prevent loneliness during periods of self-isolation.
  • The British Heart Foundation has some great links and resources for those looking for advice on how to stay healthy during periods of self-isolation.
  • The Mental Health Foundation has advice for people concerned about how the COVID-19 outbreak and self-isolation may impact on their mental health.

This is a challenging time for Wales’ netball community, but rest assured that Welsh Netball is still here for you. Any query – big or small – and our staff will be more than happy to help you. Please keep in touch and keep an eye on our website and social media channels for all of the latest information and guidance from the National Governing Body. As ever, we encourage you to please remain up to date with the latest health advice from Public Health Wales.
