On Wednesday 5 August, Welsh Netball launched a new COVID-19 safety accreditation scheme for its affiliated leagues and clubs: #NetsGetReady. The five-stage process is designed to help ensure a safe return to netball training and activity in line with Welsh Netball’s ‘Return to Play’ roadmap.
The five steps of #NetsGetReady are:
1. The appointment of a COVID-19 Co-ordinator for each league and club
2. The completion of Welsh Netball’s COVID-19 Co-ordinator Training (Online Webinar)
3. Clubs and leagues must undertake a robust COVID-19 Risk Assessment
4. The completion of the #NetsGetReady online registration form by each club and league
5. The re-affiliation of league, clubs and their members to Welsh Netball for 2020/21 season
More information about #NetsGetReady can be found here. This link will also take you to COVID-19 safe netball session guidelines and a role description for the COVID-19 Co-oridnator role as well as to links to sign-up for the various elements of the #NetsGetReady process.
Welsh Netball strongly recommends that leagues and clubs begin to complete the five-stages of the process as soon as they can, in order to help ensure a safe return to netball activity in line with the ‘Return to Play’ roadmap.
Welsh Netball is currently at Stage 2 of the ‘Return to Play’ roadmap with a move to Stage 3 anticipated this month. At Stage 4 of the roadmap, completion of #NetsGetReady will be compulsory for all leagues and clubs in Wales. This is why we encourage clubs and leagues to complete the process as soon as possible.
Please also note: the Risk Assessment (the third element of #NetsGetReady) should be completed by all clubs currently participating in organised netball fitness activity as part of Stage 2 of ‘Return to Play.’ A Risk Assessment template can be found under the resources tab on www.welshnetball.com/c19
The second element of #NetsGetReady is the COVID-19 Co-ordinator Training which is a free online webinar that COVID-19 Co-ordinators must attend. Co-ordinators will have an option of which session they can attend: either Wednesday 12 August 6pm-7.30pm or Wednesday 19 August 6pm-7.30pm. COVID-19 Co-ordinators should only attend one session. Sessions will also be recorded and placed on our website as an accessible resource.
COVID-19 Co-ordinators can book on to a training session here.
