Welsh Netball is pleased to hear that goal-attack Sarah Llewelyn has been nominated for a prestigious Nation Radio Sport Award. Sarah faces competition from cyclist Lewis Oliva and student football team Cardiff Met FC in the Cardiff Sport Student or Team of the Year category.
Welsh-speaking Sarah is 21 and currently studies Medicine at Cardiff University. Sarah’s honours include winning her first Wales cap in 2014, captaining Wales Under 21s squad and competing at the INF World Youth Cup in Botswana. She primarily plays at goal-attack although she can also cover the wing-attack position. Sarah recently featured in the Netball Europe Open Championships in Cardiff where her dynamic style of play won the admiration of Welsh fans. She has also been recently announced as a squad member for the Celtic Dragons in the upcoming 2018 Vitality Netball Superleague season.
Sarah is delighted to have been nominated for the Cardiff Sport Student/Team of the Year Award. She said: “It feels amazing to be nominated for this award, it’s fantastic to have such support from Cardiff University and the Sport High Performance team in enabling me to balance my studies and netball. I am very proud to be representing Welsh Netball and am really looking forward to the awards evening!”
