Welsh Netball Umpires to Officiate at U17s Netball Europe

Welsh Netball is pleased to share the news that two of its Talent Identified Performance Umpires have been named to officiate at the upcoming Under 17s Netball Europe Open Championships.

Rhian Edwards and Becky Scott have both been confirmed as umpires for the tournament taking place in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, next year in March. Rhian will be umpiring in the Performance Championship Section which includes the top tier countries England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Becky will be umpiring in the Challenge Cup section which includes the developing tier countries of Switzerland, Gibraltar, Ireland, Malta, UAE and Isle of Man.

This will be Becky’s first time officiating at a major international tournament and it is a testament to both umpires and the hard work they have put in over the last few years of their development as officials. They will join fellow umpires from across the Netball Europe confederation and gain a great deal of experience taking charge of matches between some of the world’s most promising young netball talent.
