January Organisation of the Month

Cherubs Angels Netball Club is our first Organisation of the Month for 2024, as they have shown tremendous growth and progress in their delivery of netball, now catering to over 260 netballers of all ages and abilities.

Cherubs Angels Netball Club was founded in 2016. They provide netball classes for 2-year-olds to 55-year-olds on a weekly basis, covering 46 weeks of the year. The club hosts 98 adult and 171 junior netballers. Alongside the founders Vikki and Shelly, they boast a team of 12 dedicated coaches, including one level 3 coach, three level 2 coaches, and others level 1 or training up. These committed coaches deliver netball training opportunities 3 days of the week, with 2-night games for members, as well as junior matches on the weekends. They have 7 adult league teams playing in Cardiff & District League, and 5 junior league teams playing in Cardiff & Vale Junior League. The club also hosts a range of talent squads with players hand-picked to complete additional training, including Academy, Talent, Mini Talent, and Development squads.

Cherubs Angels ensures members are able access the game of Netball in a safe and fun environment. Focused on teaching the fundamental skills of physical literacy, the classes are fun and inclusive, providing opportunities to learn ball skills, team work and fair play. Their ultimate goal is to create a passion for netball within their members that extends throughout their teenage years and into adulthood.

They are proud to be more than just a club; they are a netball family, supporting and empowering each other both on and off the court. They also take pride in being a pioneering Netball Club – having introduced strength and conditioning training as an integral part of their weekly sessions exclusively for junior members, who have responded with great enthusiasm.

The leadership team are immensely committed to developing and nurturing their players to thrive and reach their full potential. Some of their proudest achievements include: U12 Regional Round winners in the 2022-2023 season; finishing 3rd place at our U12 National Clubs Championship Finals; their adults winning the Heart of Wales tournament; their Juniors winning the Condover Hall tournament for the 4th year in a row; and both U12 and U14 squads remaining undefeated on the Malta tour.

We hope that the players’ and coaches’ efforts continue to pay off and wish everyone at Cherubs Angels Netball Club the very best in the future.

At the halfway point of every month, Wales Netball will announce its Organisation of the Month. An article will be displayed on our website and a post will be shared across all our social media channels.
