Wales Netball’s National League expands in 2024, with more teams & more matches than ever before!

Earlier in February we announced that two additional teams – Coastal Heat (representing Afan Nedd Tawe) and Powys Sparks have been added to the roster of National League Teams ahead of the 2024 season. These additions complete the National League line-up, and we can’t wait to see the fierce competition between the eight teams play out during the 2024 season: North West Fury, North East Inferno, Powys Sparks, West Wales Phoenix, Coastal Heat, Valley Volcanoes, South East Blaze and City Flames!

National League competition dates and locations have now been locked in, and we’re thrilled to announce the addition of a whole extra day of action! This takes the League from 3 to 4 days of matches and creates lots more opportunities for fans to come and spectate (more on this soon!) – culminating in a jam-packed last weekend of back-to-back netball.

Competition Day 1 Bangor University Saturday 18th May
Competition Day 2 Ebbw Vale Saturday 22nd June
Competition Day 3 House of Sport, Cardiff Saturday 20th July
Finals Day House of Sport, Cardiff Sunday 21st July

The 2024 management teams and trial dates will be revealed over the coming days, so keep an eye on our socials if you’re keen to trial! This year 18 players will be selected during trials for each team’s long squad, and ahead of Competition Day 1 coaches will name 12 players to make up their competition squad – plus 3 Training Partners and 3 Training Associates, to support with their preparations.

We can’t wait for National League 2024 to get underway!
